The Amazon rainforest is brimming with life. This life is not just restricted to plants and animals but to people who are indigenous to the place. The Indigenous People of the Amazon Rainforest have spent their lives in the rainforest for many years. Their ancestors have lived here for thousands of years. In comparison to the indigenous population that exists today, it is indicated that the place had a far larger population earlier.
Many of these people have completely disappeared. Others that are present today are just a few of what once used to be here. Distinct groups with their own language and culture still reside here and are much different from the people in urban and rural areas of the world.

The native people of the Amazon rainforest have their own culture and daily chores to carry on. Their clothes, food, and medicine are all primarily derived from the forest itself. Although a few indigenous sections have adopted certain parts of the modern lifestyle, the majority of them continue to live like their ancestors.
A major activity of these indigenous people is involved in hunting and fishing. They also indulge themselves in gathering nuts and fruits that are available in the forest.
They use sustainable farming methods which are known as shifting cultivation. Indigenous People of the Amazon Rainforest also have a small garden for food. They sow plants and trees that can be used for medicinal and food purposes.
The majority of the tribal population has not attended school. The tribal children do not go to school but are taught to survive in the Amazon rainforest. They have the skills to make a living in the forest. They hunt, make food and identify food and useful medicines in the forest.
The Amazon Rainforest has a rich history of human settlement. These communities created pottery, used portions of rainforest for farming, and utilized forests to optimize the distribution of useful species.
Forest is the most important thing to the indigenous people because they have their culture strongly related to it. They worship the forest until today and protect it from the outsiders as they get everything from it. They believe in sustainable existence and cultivate crops without harming the land and plants.
