Iquitos Amazon Tour 3 Days

Our Iquitos Amazon Tour adventure will commence at 8:00 am with the pick up from the airport or from the hotel in Iquitos to go to the Monkey Islands. Here, we will gather and prepare for the day’s journey. Around 9:00 am, we will then set out towards Monkey Islands.

During this trip, you will get the chance to observe various monkey species, each occupying its own niche within a mere 5-mile (8-kilometer) radius.
By 11:30 am, our expedition will steer us into the heart of the Amazon for some delightful dolphin spotting. With a little luck, we will witness these graceful creatures leaping and playing in their natural habitat.

Following a brief rest and a local lunch at 1:00 pm, we’ll embark on a boat journey deep into the jungle. As daylight fades around 5:00 pm, the Amazon’s nightlife will start to emerge. We will undertake a unique night tour, shedding light on the nocturnal creatures that come alive after dusk. The sounds of the jungle at night, paired with our expert guide’s insights, promise an experience you will cherish.

By 8:00 pm, we will retire to our Jungle Lodge. Nestled amidst the dense forest and away from the urban hustle, this haven promises both comfort and an authentic jungle experience. You will relax, recharge, and get ready for another day of Amazonian exploration.

On our second day, we’ll awaken amidst the serene surroundings of our Jungle Lodge at 6:00 am. With the dawn chorus as our backdrop, our morning will focus on animal spotting. We will set out at 7:00 am, and you’ll be guided through diverse habitats spanning a 4-mile (6.4-kilometer) stretch. Here, the Amazon will unveil its wide array of wildlife, from elusive jaguars to vibrant macaws.

By 10:00 am, we will transition into a fishing adventure. Guided by local experts, we’ll introduce you to traditional fishing techniques, increasing your chances of catching some of the Amazon’s unique fish species. As midday approaches at around 12:30 pm, we will pause for a nourishing lunch and a brief respite. In the afternoon, around 2:00 pm, we will guide you to the impressive Victoria Reiga. You’ll be spellbound by these giant water lilies, some spanning up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) in diameter.

Finally, as the day’s journey nears its end, around 5:30 pm, we will find a vantage point to absorb the Amazon’s sunset. The shifting hues and reflections on the water will offer a moment of reflection and awe. We will then return to our Jungle Lodge by 7:00 pm, recapping the day’s wonders.

On the final day of our Iquitos Amazon Tour, we will rise early at 6:00 am, eager to embrace the jungle’s morning ambiance. At 7:00 am, we will embark on a stimulating jungle hike. Spanning roughly 3 miles (4.8 kilometers), this trek will showcase the Amazon’s flora and fauna in vivid detail. Our guides will offer insights, ensuring you grasp the complexities and wonders of this ecosystem.

By 10:30 am, our hike will conclude, and we’ll set sail back to Iquitos. During this return journey, we will navigate a stretch of about 30 miles (48 kilometers) on the majestic Amazon river. Around noon, a special cultural immersion awaits, we will detour to visit an Iquitos native Ethnic Group. Interacting with them will grant you a deep understanding of their traditions, history, and connection to the Amazon.

Finally, around 3:00 pm, our journey will draw to its conclusion. We will facilitate your transfer to the airport, ensuring a smooth end to your adventure. As you prepare for your onward journey, the memories of the Amazon will undoubtedly linger in your heart.
