Day 1Cusco - Paucartambo - Bambu Lodge

We will start our Peru Amazon Tours from Cusco early in the morning at 5:30 AM. Our guide will pick us up and begin the scenic drive through the Andean highlands. We will stop at Ninamarca to explore ancient pre-Incan tombs of the Lupaca civilization. Our guide will explain the historical and cultural value of these sacred burial sites.

We will continue toward the charming colonial town of Paucartambo at 2,800 meters above sea level. The town is famous for its stone bridges, narrow streets, and lively local culture. We will interact with residents who still speak Quechua and preserve centuries-old traditions. This will be a fascinating cultural experience before entering the Amazonian region.

Next, we will drive up to Ajanaco Pass, located at 3,550 meters above sea level. This marks the entrance to Manu National Park. We will climb to Tres Cruces viewpoint at 3,700 meters above sea level  to enjoy stunning views of the Amazon Basin.  The scenery will transition from snow-capped peaks to lush cloud forests.

We will descend slowly through the misty forest, observing orchids, tree ferns, and bromeliads. We will enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the rich sounds of tropical birds. Later, we will walk to see the Andean Cock of the Rock, Peru’s national bird. Its bright red plumage and mating dance will amaze us.

In the evening, we will reach Pilcopata, at 700 meters above sea level. We will settle at our cozy Bambu Lodge and enjoy a well-deserved dinner. The night will be calm, filled with jungle sounds under a starry sky.

Day 2Bambu Lodge - Atalaya Port - Soga de Oro Lodge

We will start our second day of Amazon Jungle Tours From Cusco with a delicious breakfast at the lodge. Early morning sounds of birds and monkeys will welcome the new day. We will travel by road to Atalaya Port, located at 600 meters above sea level. From there, we will board our motorboat to navigate the Madre de Dios River.
